Gigawatt Industries partnered with PoGo Charge to deliver a state-of-the-art EV charging solution at Halifax Road, Sheffield. The project featured the installation of a 150kW Raption EV charger, designed to provide fast-charging capabilities for electric vehicles, aligning with efforts to improve sustainability and EV infrastructure in Sheffield. The comprehensive scope included civil and electrical works for the LV circuit, installation of EV chargers, power units, street lighting, and signage. The project successfully enhanced EV charging accessibility for both businesses and the public, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future. Scope of Work
Installation of 150kW Raption EV Charger:
We installed a 150kW charger providing ultra-fast, reliable charging for up to 2 vehicles.
Landscaping and Barriers:
We installed bollards to protect the power unit and charging system, and gravel to improve the finish of the area.
EV Bay Marking and Signage:
We marked exclusive EV bays and installed clear signage to reserve spaces specifically for electric vehicle users, highlighting the system's availability to the public.
Civil Engineering Services:
The project involved excavating, trenching, and constructing NAL bases to accommodate the chargers and associated infrastructure.

Installing and configuring power units to deliver stable, distributed power to the charging stations and manage load effectively.
Cable Infrastructure
Routing high-capacity power cables through protective ducting, connecting feeder pillars to charger units with correct segregation and protection.
Grid Connection
Coordinating with the DNO to ensure adequate supply capacity and a compliant connection for the high-power installation.
Safety Systems
Installing earthing, protective devices, and electrical safety systems in line with regulations to protect equipment and users.

Civil Engineering Works
Trenching and Excavation
Preparing the site by digging precise trenches to accommodate the power and data cabling required for the EV charging infrastructure.
Ducting Installation
Installing durable ducting within trenches to protect and organise electrical and communication cables across the installation.
Concrete Foundations
Constructing reinforced concrete bases to securely support the charger units and associated electrical equipment.
Reinstatement
Restoring disturbed surfaces to their original condition once installation is complete, maintaining a clean and safe finish across the site.
Site Preparation
Clearing local obstructions and carefully exposing existing services so works can proceed safely and efficiently.
Implimentation
Preliminary Work
Conduct a site survey to assess conditions and finalise installation plans. Set up safety barriers and signage to secure the work area and inform the public.
Ground Work
Excavate trenches, install conduits and ductwork for cables, and backfill for charging unit installation. Create raised islands, kerbs, and necessary modifications for charging units and floodlights, ensuring safety and aesthetics.

Electrical Installation
Install 150kW Raption EV Charger and power units per site plan. Set up floodlights for adequate lighting in the charging area.
